A Patna-bound IndiGo flight was grounded at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport on Friday afternoon after the pilot suspected a deflated front tyre, an airport official confirmed. The aircraft, which departed from Kolkata, was en route to Patna and then onward to Lucknow. However, after landing in Ranchi, the pilot reported a possible tyre deflation and requested an inspection, according to media reports.
“As a precautionary measure, the aircraft was grounded,” said Airport Director R.R. Maurya. Passengers travelling to Patna were sent by road, while those scheduled for Lucknow were rerouted on alternative flights, he added.
