New Delhi, October 28
India has signed a landmark agreement with United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) of Russia to manufacture SJ-100 civilian aircraft domestically, marking the country’s first foray into full-scale passenger aircraft production on Tuesday. The memorandum of understanding was signed in Moscow between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and UAC. Under the deal, India will have rights to produce the SJ-100 commuter aircraft for its civil aviation market.
