Shimla, October 16
The Government of Himachal Pradesh will release honorarium payments to 43,000 contractual and outsourced employees ahead of Diwali, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced on Wednesday. A total of 18,925 Anganwadi workers and 25,000 outsourced employees will receive the payments directly in their accounts before the festival. The Chief Minister has directed the Finance Department to ensure timely disbursement of the funds.
The decision comes as a relief to thousands of temporary workers who recently saw an increase in their honorarium. “We want these employees to celebrate Diwali with joy, so the honorarium will be released before October 20,” the government said.
The Chief Minister also announced a festive relief for contractors. The Finance Department has been instructed to clear pending payments of up to ₹10 lakh before Diwali. Funds will be released to the respective departments to ensure timely settlement.
Officials said the move will provide significant financial support to both employees and contractors during the festive season.
