Shimla, June 11
A statue of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will be unveiled on June 23 at Daulat Singh Park on Shimla’s historic Ridge to commemorate his birth anniversary. Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, who is also the late leader’s son, has urged people from across the state to attend the event and “take a pledge for building a new Himachal”. Describing his father as a visionary leader, Vikramaditya said the statue will be unveiled at 10 am in a non-political function. The Chief Minister, senior Congress figures from Delhi, and opposition leaders have been invited to participate. “This will be a moment to honour Virbhadra Singh’s unparalleled contribution and to reaffirm our collective vision for a progressive Himachal,” he added.
