Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday directed security forces to ensure unrestricted movement on all routes in Manipur from March 8, warning of strict action against those causing obstructions. At a high-level meeting in New Delhi, attended by top officials including the Governor of Manipur, Union Home Secretary, and senior military and security personnel, Shah emphasized the government’s commitment to restoring lasting peace in the state under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He called for swift completion of border fencing along designated entry points and urged dismantling the entire drug trade network to make Manipur drug-free.
