Dharamshala, June 25

A 30-year-old man died, and a woman was injured after a Punjab-registered car fell into a gorge in the Narghota area under the Dharamshala police station limits on Wednesday evening.

According to preliminary information, the accident occurred while the car was passing through the Narghota area. The vehicle suddenly lost balance, moved towards the roadside, and fell into the gorge. The driver died on the spot, while the injured woman was immediately taken to the hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. The footage reportedly shows the car moving on the road before becoming unstable and drifting towards the roadside, eventually falling down the slope.

Police have registered a case in connection with the accident and started an investigation. Officials are examining the CCTV footage and other available evidence to determine the exact cause of the crash.

Kangra Additional Superintendent of Police Veer Bahadur said the body of the deceased was handed over to the family after the post-mortem examination. He added that police were investigating all aspects of the accident and that the cause of the crash would be established once the probe was completed.
