Voting is underway in the high-stakes Delhi Assembly elections, with 20 percent turnout recorded by 11 am on Wednesday, officials said. Polling is being conducted across 70 constituencies at 13,766 stations, where 699 candidates are contesting in a race. Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens to vote in large numbers. “I urge voters to participate in this festival of democracy with full enthusiasm. My special wishes to first-time voters—first vote, then refreshment,” he posted on social media.
