Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has criticised Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu, accusing him of making personal attacks to please his party leadership. Speaking at a public gathering on Wednesday, Mann said Bittu, who is from Ludhiana, had failed to contribute meaningfully to the city’s development. “He wakes up every morning and starts criticising me just to keep his bosses happy,” Mann claimed.
The Chief Minister said Bittu and other politicians from traditional parties have lost public trust because they remain disconnected from the people. He alleged that many former leaders had lived in luxury and become inaccessible to the common man. Mann said traditional political parties were upset to see a common man’s son now leading the state. “People rejected these parties in 2022 and voted for change by giving a strong mandate to AAP,” he said.
Highlighting his government’s work, Mann said Punjab is witnessing progress under an honest administration. He added that earlier voters had to choose “the lesser evil,” but now they are getting clean governance with better delivery of citizen services.
