CM Mann: Opposition’s tantrums show desperation for CM house

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday accused opposition leaders of resorting to “tantrums” in a desperate bid to occupy the Chief Minister’s official residence. Speaking at an event where he handed appointment letters to youth, Mann said opposition leaders were staging theatrics to gain power. “This house belongs to 3.5 crore people of Punjab, and only the person elected by them has the privilege of serving them and living in this house,” Mann said. He criticized opposition figures, calling them “power-hungry leaders with dubious character” who have never shown genuine concern for the public.

Mann took aim at Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu, suggesting Bittu felt entitled to the CM’s residence because his grandfather had once been Chief Minister. “These rejected leaders will never be accepted by the people. Their dream of occupying the official residence of the Chief Minister through tantrums will be of no use,” he said.

The Chief Minister claimed traditional political parties were envious of him because he came from a common family, unlike those who believed they had a divine right to rule. “These convent-educated political leaders are not even aware of the basic ground realities of the state,” Mann added, stressing that the people of Punjab had rejected such politicians.
