China treated a recent India-Pakistan military conflict as a “live laboratory” to test its weaponry and surveillance capabilities through Pakistan, a senior Indian Army official has said on Friday. Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh, Deputy Chief of the Indian Army, said the May skirmish—referred to as Operation Sindoor—offered China a real-time opportunity to assess its military hardware. He asserted that much of the equipment used by Pakistan was Chinese-made, allowing Beijing to observe the performance of its weapons in live combat conditions. “China provided all possible support to Pakistan,” Lt Gen Singh said, adding that Islamabad was receiving live intelligence from Beijing during the standoff, including updates on the deployment of Indian military assets.
He further said that Türkiye also played a role in aiding Pakistan during the confrontation by supplying drones and deploying trained individuals. Lt Gen Singh made the comments while speaking on the operational dimensions of Operation Sindoor, and stressed that such external involvement highlighted the evolving nature of modern warfare where traditional battle lines are blurred by technology and cross-border cooperation.
