Chandigarh, June 17
A Chabeel serving sweet chilled water was organised in Sector 17, Chandigarh, on Tuesday to commemorate the sacred Shaheedi Purab of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
The event was organised by the Property Consultants Association Chandigarh (Regd.) near the State Bank of India, opposite the Central State Library. A large number of passersby, residents, and devotees were served refreshing sweet water as part of the religious and community service initiative.
Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi attended the programme as the chief guest and actively participated in the seva.
Speaking on the occasion, Joshi said that the life of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji remains an enduring example of sacrifice, devotion, selfless service, and dedication to humanity.
“Such acts of service strengthen the values of brotherhood, compassion and social harmony in society,” he said.
Office-bearers of the Property Consultants Association said the Chabeel is organised annually on the occasion of Shaheedi Purab. They noted that the initiative is inspired by the teachings of Guru Sahib and aims to spread the message of selfless service and humanity.
Several association members, prominent citizens, and social workers also attended the event. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to following the path shown by Guru Sahib and serving humanity with dedication.
