Pakistan on Tuesday handed over Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw to Indian authorities at the Joint Check Post (JCP) Attari at 10:30 a.m. Shaw had been captured by the Pakistan Rangers on April 23 after inadvertently crossing the international border. The BSF jawan was posted along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab when the incident occurred. Following coordination between border forces and diplomatic channels, his return was facilitated through established procedures at the Attari-Wagah border.
Meanwhile, Pakistani media reported that Punjab Rangers personnel Muhammad Allah, who was held by India after crossing the border illegally, has also been released by Indian authorities.
