Shimla, November 7
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has dissolved the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) along with district and block units across the state, while instructing Pratibha Singh to remain as HPCC president. The decision aims to rejuvenate party ranks, according to sources within the state.
Both HPCC chief Pratibha Singh and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reportedly recommended the dissolution to remove inactive members and bring in fresh talent to address current challenges. Sources indicate that Pratibha Singh proposed dissolving the entire HPCC structure, including district and block Congress Committees, to streamline operations and infuse new energy.
Confirming the changes to the media, Pratibha Singh said that she had been directed by party leadership to continue in her role, underscoring a move to reshape the party’s structure in Himachal Pradesh.
