Delhi, October 14
An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi on Monday following a bomb threat, the airline said in a statement. Flight AI119 took off from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at around 2 a.m., and the bomb threat was received through a tweet shortly after, according to officials. The security alert prompted the diversion to Delhi, where all passengers disembarked safely. Further inspections are underway at the airport.
“Our ground staff is working to minimize the inconvenience caused to our passengers by this disruption,” the airline stated. The investigation into the threat is ongoing.
