Roundglass, FPAP partner to strengthen player welfare and football development in Punjab

Chandigarh, June 29

Roundglass has entered into a strategic partnership with the Football Players Association of Punjab to strengthen player welfare and support the overall development of football in the state.  The collaboration aims to create a player-focused ecosystem through initiatives centered on education, wellbeing, career development and community engagement.
The partnership was announced in Chandigarh in the presence of FPAP President and former India international Anwar Ali, Vice President Harpreet Singh, India goalkeeper Amrinder Singh, India youth international Gurnaz Kaur, Indian Women’s League player Harmilian Kaur, Punjab FC General Manager Nitin Pant, former Punjab FC player Bikramjit Singh and representatives from both organizations.
Roundglass, which owns Indian Super League club Punjab FC, said the initiative reflects its long-term commitment to supporting footballers beyond the field through structured welfare and development programs.
Under the collaboration, Roundglass and FPAP will jointly conduct programs on player welfare, mental health, injury prevention and recovery, financial literacy, career transition, integrity and anti-doping awareness, health education, grassroots engagement, retired player mentorship and policy dialogue. FPAP members will also receive complimentary access to the Roundglass Living app to support their overall health and wellbeing.
The partnership will be implemented through workshops, awareness sessions, community outreach programs and regular coordination by a Joint Working Group comprising representatives from both organizations. Both sides said the initiative will remain focused on education and player welfare without involving player contracts, employment matters or governance issues.Punjab FC General Manager Nitin Pant said player development goes beyond technical training and competition. He said education, wellbeing and career planning are essential for building a sustainable football ecosystem, adding that the partnership reflects Roundglass’ commitment to placing players at the center of football development.
FPAP President Anwar Ali said the association was established to ensure footballers have a strong support system on and off the field. He said the collaboration with Roundglass would strengthen initiatives related to player welfare, mental wellbeing, education and career development while helping players make informed decisions throughout their careers.
Launched in September 2025, the Football Players Association of Punjab is affiliated with the Football Players Association of India and FIFPRO, the International Federation of Professional Footballers. The association represents grassroots and professional footballers across Punjab.
Roundglass said the initiative aims to set a benchmark for player welfare in Indian football while contributing to the long-term growth of the sport in Punjab and across the country.
