Chandigarh, June 17
TaskUs India has organized two free eye care camps in Chandigarh, benefiting more than 240 residents as part of its efforts to improve access to essential healthcare services and strengthen community wellbeing. The initiative was conducted in association with the National Association for the Blind (NAB) and supported by TaskUs volunteers.
The camps were held at Lal Wala Peer Googa in Village Kaimbwala and at the Municipal Councilor’s Office in Khuda Lahora Village. The programme focused on providing eye screenings, vision correction, and medical support to individuals with limited access to healthcare facilities.
At the Kaimbwala camp, 105 people were screened for refractive errors and other eye-related conditions. Following the examinations, 75 individuals received corrective eyeglasses, while 64 received free medicines for minor eye ailments. Five critical cases were referred to a base hospital for further treatment, and eight cataract patients were connected with a charitable organization for continued care and support.
At the Khuda Lahora camp, more than 135 residents underwent eye screenings and consultations. A total of 90 individuals received spectacles for vision correction, while 97 received free treatment for various eye ailments. Eight critical cases identified during the camp were referred for advanced medical follow-up.
Commenting on the initiative, Sapna Bhambani, Senior Vice President of Operations and Country Lead, TaskUs India, said the organization remains committed to creating meaningful social impact through community-focused programmes.
“At TaskUs, we strongly believe that businesses have a responsibility towards the communities they operate in. Creating long-term impact goes beyond business outcomes and includes contributing to people’s wellbeing and enabling access to essential support systems. These eye care initiatives reflect our commitment towards building healthier and more inclusive communities while partnering with local stakeholders to create tangible impact where it matters most,” she said.
The initiative forms part of TaskUs India’s broader efforts to expand access to healthcare services and support underserved communities through targeted welfare programmes. By partnering with local organizations and volunteers, the company aims to improve health outcomes and strengthen community engagement across the regions where it operates.
