Panchkula. May 22
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken a significant step in the alleged ₹504 crore embezzlement case linked to various departments of the Haryana government by filing its first chargesheet before a special CBI court in Panchkula on Thursday.
According to officials, the case involves a large-scale financial irregularity in which funds from multiple government departments were allegedly siphoned off through a coordinated scheme.
The chargesheet names 15 accused, including bank officials, government employees, and private individuals, all allegedly involved in the case.
Investigators have identified Ribhav Rishi as the alleged mastermind behind the conspiracy. The agency stated that the accused played different roles in executing and facilitating the fraudulent transactions.
Officials further indicated that this is only the first chargesheet in the matter, and a supplementary chargesheet is likely to be filed as the investigation continues.
The CBI is currently probing deeper financial links and possible involvement of additional individuals and entities in the case.
