Panchkula, May 6
The Congress party has announced its list of candidates for the Municipal Council elections in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, even as campaigning intensifies across the state. However, the party has not reached a consensus on a candidate for Ward 7.
In Wards 8 and 11, candidates have been fielded from other areas due to the lack of suitable local nominees.
District Congress Committee president Sesar Ram Azad said the candidates were finalized after consultations with local residents and the approval of senior party leaders. He announced Vishal Sood for Ward 1, Kubja Thakur for Ward 2, Ushmaj Sharma for Ward 3, Vijay Modgil for Ward 4, Pooja Sharma for Ward 5, Geeta for Ward 6, Asha Dogra for Ward 8, Jeevan Kala for Ward 9, Hari Singh for Ward 10, and Subhash Chand for Ward 11.
He said all candidates have begun campaigning in their respective wards. Azad added that the party is fully prepared for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections and will extend full support to Congress-backed candidates.
