Mamata’s ‘not resigning’ statement undermines democracy: Badoli

Haryana BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli visited Panchkula on Tuesday to campaign for mayoral and councillor candidates ahead of the Municipal Corporation elections. He was welcomed by party workers and symbolically weighed in laddoos during the event.

Addressing the media, Badoli said the BJP’s victories in West Bengal and Assam reflected strong public support for the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the party. He described the win as “historic” and credited it to public support for BJP policies.

Reacting to remarks by Mamata Banerjee regarding not resigning from the Chief Minister post, Badoli termed her statement “condemnable,” saying leaders should respect the Constitution and the people’s mandate. He added that India’s democratic process is celebrated globally, and such statements undermine its spirit.

On being asked about the notice issued to Kuldeep Bishnoi over remarks linked to statements by Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma concerning former Haryana CM Bhajan Lal and former Deputy CM Chander Mohan, Badoli declined to comment and asked the media to move to the next question.

Speaking on the upcoming civic polls, he claimed that the BJP enjoys a favourable atmosphere in Haryana following recent election outcomes in multiple states. He asserted that the party is poised for victory in the municipal elections and expressed confidence that the people of Haryana would support a “triple-engine government.”
