A comprehensive systematic review investigating the potential health effects of radio wave exposure has concluded that mobile phones are not linked to brain cancer. This review, commissioned by the World Health Organization (WHO), was published today in the journal Environment International.
Mobile phones, often held close to the head during use, emit radio waves, a form of non-ionizing radiation. These factors initially raised concerns that mobile phone usage could be associated with brain cancer, the news outlet NDTV reported.
The potential health risks of mobile phones have been a subject of ongoing debate, given the prevalence of mobile and wireless technology in daily life. Addressing the safety of radio wave exposure from these devices has been crucial for scientific inquiry. However, the scientific consensus over the years has consistently shown no evidence of an association between mobile phone radio waves and brain cancer or other health issues.
