Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday extended his greetings to naval personnel and their families on the occasion of Navy Day, praising the Indian Navy’s role in safeguarding the country’s maritime interests. In a message issued on X, Rajnath Singh said the Navy, as the largest resident naval power in the Indian Ocean, continued to demonstrate valour and vigilance while supporting India’s wider push for self-reliance in defence. He added that the service remained central to India’s ambitions of becoming a developed nation. The Minister said the professionalism and commitment shown by naval personnel over the past year had strengthened his confidence in the Navy’s ability to protect and advance India’s maritime priorities. He also wished the force success in its future missions.
