“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the landslide in Wayanad. The Central Government is committed to providing every possible support for the relief efforts,” stated PM Modi during a press conference following his visit to the landslide-stricken area in Wayanad today, according to media reports.
PM Modi conducted an aerial survey of the affected regions and visited Chooralmala hamlet, the epicenter of the landslide. He also stopped at the Wayanad Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Meppadi and a nearby relief camp, where he spoke with survivors. Later, he held a review meeting with officials to assess the situation. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Governor Arif Mohammad Khan accompanied PM Modi during the visit.
