Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences following the collapse of a bridge in Gujarat’s Vadodara district, which claimed 9 lives and left several others injured. In a message posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Modi described the incident as “deeply saddening” and extended sympathies to the families affected. “Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon,” he wrote. The Prime Minister also announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF), offering an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh to the next of kin of each person killed in the incident, and ₹50,000 to those injured.
