Jammu, June 29
BJP National President Nitin Nabin will visit Jammu on July 6 and 7 for his first visit to the Union Territory since taking charge of the party earlier this year. The announcement was made on Sunday during a meeting of BJP office bearers, where party leaders also reviewed organizational activities and preparations for upcoming programs.
The visit schedule was announced by Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Sat Sharma during a meeting attended by Union Minister Jitendra Singh and other senior party leaders. Before the office bearers’ meeting, the party also held a core group meeting at its headquarters to discuss organizational matters.
During his two-day visit, Nabin is scheduled to interact with party workers, address public meetings, and chair a series of organizational sessions to review the party’s functioning and strengthen its network across the Union Territory. Meanwhile, the BJP has suspended senior leaders Lateef Khan and Burhan from the party’s primary membership for two years, following recommendations from its Disciplinary Committee.
According to the party, the action was taken after a detailed inquiry conducted under the chairmanship of Sunil Sethi, Chairman of the BJP
Jammu and Kashmir Disciplinary Committee. The committee concluded that both leaders were involved in serious acts of indiscipline that violated the party’s constitution, discipline, and organizational values. Party sources said the disciplinary action followed allegations that the two leaders were involved in a physical altercation with fellow party workers inside the BJP office in Anantnag, bringing disrepute to the organization.
The BJP said it remains committed to maintaining organizational discipline while continuing preparations for Nitin Nabin’s visit, which is expected to focus on strengthening the party’s outreach and organizational structure across Jammu and Kashmir.
