Fresh western disturbance to bring wet spell across Himachal till July 4

The Meteorological Centre in Shimla has forecast a wet spell across Himachal Pradesh till July 4, with a fresh western disturbance expected to influence weather conditions over northwest India from July 2. The department has also issued a thunderstorm alert for several parts of the state during the period.
According to the Meteorological Centre, isolated areas across Himachal Pradesh are likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour between June 30 and July 4.
The weather department on Subday said the approaching western disturbance is expected to enhance rainfall activity across the state, resulting in a continued wet spell over the coming days.
Meanwhile, light rainfall was recorded in different parts of Himachal Pradesh during the past 24 hours. Thunderstorm activity was also reported from Shimla, Kangra, and Mandi districts.
Authorities have advised residents to remain alert during periods of thunderstorms and strong winds and to take necessary precautions while travelling or venturing outdoors, as weather conditions are expected to remain unsettled till July 4.
